Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ngee Ann Polytechnic is not a basic learning institution. It’s considered one of the best centers of innovation. The poly’s fresh graduates have an employment rate of 90.6 percent. Additionally, the post-graduates have a 95.4 percent employment rate. These percentages indicate that it’s indeed a world-class education center. Ngee Ann Polytechnic has over 14,800 full-time students. Besides that, there are 3,000 students studying part-time, 148,000 alumni, and 1,800 members of staff. This poly teaches learners practical skills that relate to the current job market. They have an industry-oriented teaching technique to ensure that the students leave with industry-specific skills.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic Established in 1963

Ngee Ann Polytechnic was first established in 1963. At the time, it had 116 students only. However, it has steadily grown over the years to become of the biggest and renowned learning institutes in Singapore. It currently lies on a 33 hectare land in Clementi Road. Ngee Ann Polytechnic is located near to Ki Residences at the mature town of Clementi as well as Jurong. Ki Residences owners will benefit from the courses available at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

This poly’s learning model can be described as multidisciplinary and broad-based. It was developed to ensure that learners can understand Singapore’s economy which is practical and knowledge-based. By the time a graduate is released to the job market, they are well-rounded and furnished with both soft and hard skills. The Ngee Ann Learning Module has 70 modules which students can choose from. They are specific to areas such as science and technology, innovation and enterprise, personal mastery and development, etc.

Courses at Ngee Ann Polytechnic

The polytechnic has 44 diploma courses for full-time learners. They cover areas such as health and life sciences, design and environment, technology, media, engineering, and business among others. These courses are categorized into nine academic schools which include:

Financial Grants at Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ngee Ann Poly also offers other learning programs such as earn and learn, silver programs designed for adult learners via the CET Academy, post-diplomas, and a myriad of short courses. Note that CET Academy offers learners more than 200 courses annually and it has trained over 10,000 adults. They host conferences, workshops, seminars, and lecturers.

The polytechnic usually offers over a thousand scholarships yearly and more than 6,000 students normally benefit from over $15 million in financial grants with are offered every year. Ngee Ann students also have a chance of getting overseas exposure. This means that once they graduate, they can comfortably work in any part of the world.
